Dear Model Car collecting community,

We are deeply saddened to share the news that British Heritage Models founder and

general manager, Frank Jones, passed away suddenly at home in Chester on the 3rd

of March, aged 78. For those who knew Frank, please feel free to view the content

from his funeral (including images and eulogies) online HERE.

I (Frank's son, Mike) am aware there are a few outstanding orders/pre-order and other

queries I have yet to tend to. If this lack of contact has affected you, please accept my

sincere apologies and rest assured I will begin replying to people in the coming days

and weeks. Please note: contact via email ([email protected]) is best, as I am not

based at home during the day.

The webstore is now live again. However, while I have pondered whether or not I

would be able to keep the business going, I know I lack the knowledge of British car

history, and ability to do BHM ‘s reputation for outstanding customer service justice

given my own business commitments.

Therefore, I have made the difficult decision to begin winding BHM’s stock down and

will soon be sharing details of the summer closing down sale, so please keep

checking back here for more info on that in the coming days!

Should anyone in the industry wish to express an interest in taking over the business

identity (name, logo, etc.) for the future, please feel free to email me on the usual:

[email protected]

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of Dad’s customers, not just for your

highly valued business over the years, but also your friendship with him. We were very

close, and often he would mention how he’d thought of winding BHM down, so he

could focus more on his writing work during his remaining retirement. However, no

doubt the sense of purpose he found in running the business, along with serving his

wonderful customers (many of whom he loved to speak with regularly on the phone),

meant he could never quite bring himself to call it a day.

For those that may not already know, Dad established BHM shortly after the

unexpected passing of his beloved wife Sarah (my Mum) in 2009, while he found

himself at a loss with what to do with himself in retirement. He bought six models from

supplier Brooklyn (if I remember correctly), hoping they’d sell on eBay at some point,

which they did immediately… and the rest is history!

During certain times when Dad has gone away, or during the Covid pandemic when he

had to stay at home, I’ve taken over the reins and dispatched orders, so have an

awareness of how it all runs and will be in charge of managing the business from now

on.

Once again: Thank you for supporting BHM and Dad over the years and I look forward

to fulfilling all future orders from hereon in.

Regards to all,

Mike (Frank's Son).
