I was born in Old Swan, Liverpool, and now live in Chester. From an early age, I wrote poetry and short stories. Later in life, becoming interested in writing drama, I attended creative writing courses at the Liverpool University Department of Extension Studies and at the Arvon Foundation in Devon tutored by Willy Russell and Adrian Henri.

I became a member of the Liverpool Playhouse Playwrights which led to my stage comedy, Men Only! being performed on the Playhouse Studio theatre. My comedy Jacko’s Big Day was shortlisted (9/900+) in the Radio Times Drama awards, going on to a stage performance on the Unity Theatre, Liverpool.

Moving to Chester, I became a founder member of the Chester Gateway Playwrights, and my ghost stories were a popular feature in the annual, Gateway Halloween Shivers nights. Now renamed, It’s Now or Never! my stage comedy Men Only! was professionally produced on the main house of the Chester Gateway Theatre, receiving excellent reviews and audience reactions. My Christmas rock & roll pantomime Jumping Jack Flash

produced by the Liverpool Everyman received excellent reviews and standing ovations every night. It went on to break box office records at the Everyman.

My first novel Her Name Was Charlie is now on sale, together with For You… a collection of my poetry. Apart from poetry and plays, I also enjoy writing children’s stories (ages ranging from pre-school to mid-teen) and writing songs.

I am currently working on my ‘sort of’ autobiography Nearly, but not quite – a beginner's guide to becoming a failure!

An ADULT novel of 84,000 words.
